Disruption across science and technology
Consumer-driven and controlled connectivity and diagnostics
I originated the vision of desktop optical fibre and waveguide manufacture for everyday consumers, a new rea of research aiming to allow everyone from farmers to city folk to potentially make and install their own optical fibres. Combined with the original ideas on smartphone and other wearable instruments, I see a future that is ubiquitous and potentially free of any entity-owned infrastructure and using technology to address major climate challenges such as dercabonising building materials and reducing junk in space. Previously considered impossible, now slowly but surely researchers around the world are working in this space looking beyond immediate industry needs to a future that will transform the world and beyond.
Some of my recent publications, working with a diverse range of colleagues and students locally and globally, can be found below. We go beyond servicing industry immediate needs to see the future. Reach out to explore opportunities and advice on grants through to research and startups and IP to consultancies. I also can provide confidential strategic assessments within complex environments at Universities and organisations.
